Carers Victoria is a leading not-for-profit organisation, working to make sure that the almost one million unpaid carers across the state are understood, recognised and supported. We do this by providing information, advice and respite services to carers; by hosting education sessions and events to support them in their role; by gathering and analysing data and producing reports about carers and what they need; and by raising broad awareness of carers across the whole community. We are in a significant period of change, looking at how we can reach and support even more carers through innovative models, systems and thinking.
The Position
The core responsibilities of this role include:
- Project manage delivery of the transformation program, ensuring alignment with Carers Victoria’s goals, timelines & budget
- Manage multiple workstreams using pragmatic Agile principles, facilitating scrum & backlog management
- Develop & implement change management strategies to support cultural and operational shifts
- Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders, maintain strong communication & manage expectations
- Oversee program planning, scheduling & risk management using Agile tools for transparency
- Identify opportunities for process improvements & foster a culture of continuous learning and capability development
- Proactively manage risks & issues, working with teams to develop mitigation strategies.
The Person
This exciting opportunity will suit an individual who is looking for a role that makes a difference. To be successful in this role, you should have:
- At least 5 years of experience in program/project management with a focus on transformation programs
- Strong experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and facilitating teams through the Agile process in non-technical environment.
- A pragmatic approach to Agile, with experience in organisations where this has been successfully implemented.
- Proven ability to lead change management initiatives & build staff capability, with practical knowledge of change management methodologies
- Exceptional leadership skills, able to drive alignment, motivate teams, and influence stakeholders at all levels while balancing strategic thinking with hands on support
- Excellent communication skills to manage relationships across multiple levels, engage stakeholders and communicate complex concepts clearly
- Strong critical thinking & problem solving abilities, with a track record of navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise & manage multiple workstreams effectively
- Experience with Microsoft suite and the ability to quickly implement project management & codesign tools
- A team player who thrives in cross functional environments and can handle ambiguity and shifting priorities
- Passion for leading people through change and ensuring positive outcomes.
- Relevant qualifications in Agile Project Management or proven experience in project management.
